If you play Bedrock on Xbox, PlayStation, a phone or Windows, achievements are part of the fun. You earn Gamerscore, you unlock trophies, and your progress follows your Microsoft account. That is why "achievement friendly" has become one of the most searched phrases next to the word addon.
The problem is that the label gets used loosely. This post explains what actually disables achievements, what an addon has to do to stay out of the way, and how to protect a world you care about.
Bedrock tracks whether a world is still "eligible" for achievements. Once a world loses eligibility, it is gone for that world, even if you undo the change later. The usual triggers are:

/give.That last point is the difference between an addon that is technically achievement friendly and one that is actually fun in survival. A wand that gives you infinite blocks is not really a survival tool, even if it technically keeps achievements on. Good design balances power with a cost.
Minecraft shows a clear warning before it disables achievements when you change a setting like cheats or experiments. If you see that warning, stop and back out. Do not click through it on a world you care about.

Always read the project description before downloading. If an addon needs a toggle or a setting, it will say so there.
